Our first concert of 2023 was on Saturday April 1st (no fooling!) in St. Catherine’s Church, Hatcham, London SE14 as part of this wonderful eclectic and multi-cultural festival. The theme of the concert was to chart the development of male voice singing through the ages from plainchant and early sacred music through madrigals, marching songs, shanties and spirituals to barbershop, Broadway, the King’s Singers and Pop, under the experienced musical direction of Deborah Miles-Johnson, and accompanied by Paul Webster. We also have a great young soprano soloist, Leilani Barratt, to add some jazz and glamour.
